About this lesson

A nine-step teaching-artist lesson: draw line patterns (wavy, zigzag, dots, scribbles) onto cut paper, plan the composition and orientation, try out shapes, add dimension by folding and curling, then glue systematically. It uses shape, contrast and pattern as the organizing principles and points to Matisse, Carle and Bearden.
